Skyline Windows is a fourth generation family owned and operated business. We are best known for designing, manufacturing, and installing custom windows, window wall systems, and terrace doors. All of our products are made to order based on our clients’ project specifications. From landmarks to new construction, high end residential to high volume commercial, we do it all!

Essential Functions:

The Window Mechanic is primarily responsible for on-site installation and repair of doors and windows, based on an assigned schedule. A Mechanic ensures work site set up, performs basic to routine window or door installations and removal, performs work-site tear down and clean-up of the entire job site.  Additionally, they are responsible to ensure that all product testing, troubleshooting, and repair are completed properly, to the satisfaction of our customers.

• Remove and install glass and aluminum windows
• Ensure that company tools and vehicle are kept in good working order
• Safety - perform all duties in accordance with OSHA and DOB standards.
• Complete window removals and installations in a timely manner
• Effectively collaborate with co-workers to achieve desired results
• Completed paperwork required
• Load and unload materials from truck onto work site
• Responsible for cleanup inside and outside of each job location

Experience & Qualifications:

• Experience with glass window installation, removal & service
• Ability to read detailed work orders and shop drawings a plus
• Working knowledge of hand and power tools
• Hand tools Required
• Good communication skills to address any problems or questions
• Candidates with mechanical, construction, or carpentry backgrounds are encouraged to apply
• High School diploma or equivalent GED
• OSHA 40-hour SST Required, NYC Dept of Buildings card required

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to Lift, pull, push & carry up to 75 lbs, multiple times on a daily basis
• Ability to stand on a consistent basis for extended periods of time
• Ability to walk stairs and ramps multiple times on a daily basis
• Ability to work on an open construction site which may include high elevation

Travel:

Must be able to work in 5 boroughs
