Role Summary

Simson Products, a Collective Manufacturing entity, is seeking a visionary CNC Programming & Processing Lead to serve as the technical cornerstone of our facility. You won't just be writing code; you will be the primary architect of our machining ecosystem. This role is designed for a leader who excels at translating complex engineering challenges into streamlined high-efficiency production processes using the latest in multi-axis technology and light touch automation.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Programming: Develop and optimize advanced CNC programs for 3-, 4-axis mills and lathes using Mastercam.
• Process Architecture: Lead the transition to newer/alternative machining platforms, ensuring seamless integration.
• Technical Mentorship: Act as the primary technical escalation point, training and mentoring a team of machinists on best practices for tooling, work holding, and safety.
• Efficiency & Optimization: Drive Continuous Improvement by reducing setup times and cycle times through Lean Manufacturing Principles.
• Design for Manufacturing (DFM): Partner closely with engineering to provide DFM feedback, ensuring new parts are optimized for production before they reach the floor.
• Innovation Leadership: Manage the shop’s fixturing library and create strategies to minimize idle time and maximize set up and production efficiency.

Required Qualifications

• Experience: 7+ years in precision CNC programming and setup, with at least 3 years in a lead or supervisory role.
• Technical Mastery: Deep expertise in G-code, GD&T, and programming toolpaths. CAM software experience required, Mastercam preferable.
• Tooling & Fixturing: Extensive knowledge of custom fixture design and specialized cutting tools for high-performance materials.
• Inspection: Ability to set up CNC machines and use appropriate tooling to verify conformance to required standards and drawings.
• Problem Solving: A proven track record of identifying and rectifying bottlenecks and operational malfunctions independently.
• Communication: Strong ability to document standard work instructions and collaborate cross-functionally with Production, Quality, and Sales teams.

Physical Requirements

• Primary duties will be on the shop floor, working in a manufacturing environment.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time while performing manual work.
• Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity in both hands.
• Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds unassisted, stand, squat, bend, twist, and reach often.
• Exposure to noise and vibration from power equipment, dust, and fumes.
