At Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics, the Orthodontic Dental Assistant plays an essential role in creating an exceptional patient experience while supporting the clinical team in delivering high-quality orthodontic care. You are a key part of helping appointments run smoothly, ensuring patients feel comfortable, and supporting efficient clinical operations throughout the day. If you thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and enjoy working closely with patients, we’d love to meet you.

Schedule: 2-3 days per week

Responsibilities

  • Create a welcoming and positive experience for patients by helping them feel comfortable and informed throughout their orthodontic visit

  • Assist the Orthodontist during a variety of orthodontic procedures, including adjustments, bonding, debonding, retainer appointments, and other clinical treatments

  • Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials to ensure appointments run efficiently and on schedule

  • Take diagnostic records, including digital x-rays, photographs, and scans/impressions as needed

  • Educate patients on oral hygiene, appliance care, retainers, aligners, and post-treatment instructions to support successful outcomes

  • Monitor patient flow and work closely with the clinical team to maintain an efficient schedule and minimize wait times

  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and update patient records as needed

  • Follow all infection control, sterilization, OSHA, and HIPAA protocols to ensure a safe clinical environment

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional treatment area

  • Collaborate closely with the orthodontic team to support exceptional patient care and day-to-day office operations

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management

This is an opportunity to join a well-established, team-oriented orthodontic practice where your role is essential to delivering exceptional patient care and supporting a positive office culture.

  • Previous orthodontic or dental assisting experience is preferred

  • Orthodontic experience strongly preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate with dental experience and a positive attitude

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to help patients feel comfortable and supported during treatment

  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment

  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality patient care

  • Team-oriented mindset with a positive, dependable attitude

  • Comfort using orthodontic/dental software and digital imaging technology

  • Current certifications and licensure as required by state regulations
