Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Pain Management Physician Assistant to join our team at the Siegwerk Mental and Behavioral Center located in Niagara Falls, New York. This full-time role requires a proactive professional who is committed to delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced surgical center environment. The ideal candidate should be comfortable managing a patient load of 30 or more patients per day and providing comprehensive pain management services.

Work Environment

The successful candidate will work onsite at our state-of-the-art surgical center in Niagara Falls. The work schedule is from Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a balanced work-life integration while serving our patient community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive healthcare services, including physical examinations and health assessments for patients of all ages.
  • Diagnose and treat acute and chronic pain conditions, developing individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
  • Prescribe medications in accordance with established protocols, ensuring effective pain management.
  • Educate patients and their families on disease prevention strategies, healthy lifestyles, and optimal pain management techniques.
  • Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate effective treatment and follow-up care.
  • Manage patient care operations, including referrals to specialists and scheduling of follow-up appointments.
  • Maintain precise and up-to-date medical records using our electronic health record system.
  • Engage in continuous professional development by staying current with advancements in pain management practices and contributing to quality improvement initiatives.
Patient Population / Client Focus

You will be working with a diverse patient population that presents various pain management challenges, including but not limited to musculoskeletal disorders, neuropathic pain, and post-surgical pain. Your role will be critical in addressing the unique needs of each patient, fostering an environment of trust and open communication, and advocating for their overall well-being.

Qualifications
  • A valid New York state Physician Assistant license.
  • Certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) is required.
  • A current DEA registration to prescribe controlled medications.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is necessary, and a Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant studies is preferred.
  • Fluency in multiple languages is considered an asset, enhancing communication with our diverse patient base.
Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, previous experience in pain management or an orthopedic outpatient setting will significantly strengthen your application. Familiarity with pain management protocols and equipment will be advantageous as you step into this vital role.

Compensation and Benefits
