About This Role

The classroom Teacher plays a pivotal role in fostering a stimulating and engaging environment, where young minds can grow and thrive. To achieve this, the successful candidate will oversee the development of a cohesive teaching team, coordinate curriculum, and manage day-to-day classroom operations. This requires a deep understanding of children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with both children and adults. The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills, as well as a strong understanding of child development and the ability to work well with others.


What You'll Do
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans, grounded in developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards, to foster a love of learning in children.
  • Lead by example, model best practices, and coach teaching team members to ensure success.
  • Design and implement age-appropriate activities that promote social, cognitive, and emotional growth, while maintaining a safe and healthy classroom environment.
  • Maintain open and regular communication with parents through progress reports, parent-teacher conferences, and informal discussions.
  • Ensure compliance with center policies and state regulations, while upholding the highest standards of quality care and education.
  • Supervise teacher assistants and volunteers, ensuring they adhere to planned activities, hygiene, and safety standards.
  • Attend mandatory training sessions, workshops, and meetings, including First Aid and CPR certification, to maintain and enhance professional development.
  • Maintain accurate records, forms, and files, and stay up-to-date with ongoing training and professional development.
  • Support children's daily nutritional needs, including serving and cleaning up after meals and snacks.
  • Diapering and potty-training are essential responsibilities.

Requirements
  • Must currently possess an active Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, TCC, associates degree, or bachelor's degree,
  • OR at least 48 semester credit hours, of which 15 semester hours are in early childhood education,early childhood development,child and family studies
  • AND at least two years of experience working with children in a licensed child development facility
  • By December 2023, encouraged to earn an associate degree in early childhood education, early childhood development, child and family studies, or a closely related field of study
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
  • High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
  • A strong understanding of child development.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification
  • Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
  • High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
  • A strong understanding of child development.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification
  • Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.
