At Shared Wellness, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to live a meaningful, healthy, and connected life. Our volunteers play a vital role in supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, behavioral health needs, and our growing community wellness initiatives.

Whether you have a few hours each month or are looking for an ongoing opportunity, we invite you to share your talents, compassion, and enthusiasm with our mission.

About the Role

As a Shared Wellness Volunteer, you'll work alongside our staff to create inclusive experiences that promote wellness, independence, community engagement, and meaningful relationships. Volunteer opportunities are flexible and can be matched to your interests, skills, availability, and experience.

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers may assist with:

  • Community events and outreach activities
  • Wellness classes and programs
  • Arts, music, gardening, cooking, and recreational activities
  • Administrative and office support
  • Fundraising events and special projects
  • Social media, photography, graphic design, and marketing
  • Facility beautification and maintenance projects
  • Volunteer and donation drives
  • Mentoring and companionship opportunities
  • Holiday celebrations and community outings
  • Professional services such as wellness instruction, education, business consulting, or healthcare expertise

No two volunteer experiences are exactly alike—we work with each volunteer to find the best fit.

What You'll Do

Depending on your interests, responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting participants during activities and events
  • Assisting with event planning, setup, and cleanup
  • Helping create a welcoming, inclusive environment
  • Engaging with individuals through conversation, games, and creative activities
  • Assisting staff with organizational and administrative projects
  • Representing Shared Wellness at community events
  • Supporting fundraising and awareness campaigns
  • Sharing specialized skills that enhance our programs

No prior experience is required for many volunteer opportunities. Training and orientation are provided.
