The Opportunity
Seyfarth Shaw LLP, an international law firm with over 1000 attorneys, has an exciting opportunity for a Labor & Employment Staff Attorney (ERISA) with 3 or more years of increasingly responsible experience in employment, commercial or insurance litigation. Candidates should have familiarity with federal court practice. Extensive writing experience as well as the ability to handle a high-volume practice that includes file review, preparing case analysis memoranda, pleadings, attending routine court hearings, attending mediation or conciliation meetings, and negotiating settlement agreements is required.
The Day-To-Day
As an Staff Attorney in the Labor & Employment Department, you'll have the opportunity to work on interesting, challenging, and groundbreaking cases in collaboration with senior attorneys.
You Have
  • 3+ years of increasingly responsible experience in employment, commercial or insurance litigation
  • Familiarity with federal court practice
  • Extensive writing experience as well as the ability to handle a high-volume practice that includes file review, preparing case analysis memoranda, pleadings, attending routine court hearings, attending mediation or conciliation meetings, and negotiating settlement agreements
  • Excellent academic credentials and solid work ethic
  • Admission to the Illinois bar or the ability to waive in is required

The salary range for this role is $130,000 to $140,000. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's pay within the salary range will be based on numerous factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for an annual merit increase and bonus pay.
We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, and 401(k).
