Job Description Our client, a respected and steadily growing engineering consultancy in the mining and minerals sector, is building out their leadership team. They're looking for an experienced, forward-thinking Manager, Electrical & I&C to lead and grow a talented group of 8-10 engineers and designers - while remaining actively involved in delivery projects as a technical leader. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone who enjoys balancing team development with direct project execution.
You'll shave the direction of both Electrical and I&C disciplines while continuing to contribute technical as a project lead and senior contributor across a diverse portfolio of projects. What You'll Do: Lead and Develop the Team Guide and mentor a team of 8-10 engineers and designers across Electrical and Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) disciplines. Support career development, performance management and recruitment.
Allocate resources, oversee workflows, and drive continuous improvement across both teams. Forster a collaborative, accountable, and high performance culture. Contribute to Project Delivery Act as a Project Lead or Senior Engineer on key projects Provide technical direction, produce/review designs, and solve complex engineering challenges Conduct site visits and support commissioning and execution activities Collaborate with project managers and discipline leads for efficient project delivery.
What You'll Bring to the Table: 10-15+ years of experience in Electrical and/or I&C engineering, ideally in mining, minerals processing, or heavy industry. P.Eng. designation in Ontario (or immediate eligibility)
Previous supervisory or managerial experience in consulting engineering. Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, industrial power distribution, instrumentation, PLCs/DCS, and control system design. Proven leadership skills and ability to manage multidisciplinary teams.
