Position Overview

Serene Unity Behavioral Health Center is seeking compassionate and skilled Mental Health Counselors to join our dedicated team in providing exceptional mental health services. This full-time opportunity allows you to work remotely while serving our diverse outpatient client base in Oakland, California. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments to identify unique patient needs and develop individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based methodologies.
• Implement therapeutic interventions utilizing modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, and other relevant therapeutic techniques that suit each client’s situation.
• Facilitate psychoeducational groups and support sessions, providing education on mental health topics and fostering a sense of community among participants.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, and other mental health professionals to ensure a holistic approach to patient care, achieving optimal treatment outcomes.
• Provide crisis intervention services to manage mental health emergencies effectively, utilizing de-escalation techniques and establishing safety plans.
• Educate clients on their mental health conditions, treatment options, and available community resources to empower them on their journey to recovery.
• Maintain meticulous documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards, ensuring patient confidentiality and proper record-keeping practices.
• Participate actively in case consultations, team meetings, and professional development activities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
• Stay informed on the latest advancements in mental health therapies and research to continuously improve delivery of services.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our practice serves a diverse range of clients, including children, adolescents, adults, and families grappling with various mental health challenges. This wide array of patient backgrounds enriches the therapeutic experience and allows our counselors to develop cultural competence and adaptive therapeutic strategies tailored to individual client circumstances.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field is required.
• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW in the state of California is necessary for practice.
• Strong familiarity with common mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment approaches.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and formulate effective treatment plans.
• Experience providing both individual and group therapy to a variety of client populations.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with an emphasis on empathy and active listening.
• Adherence to the highest ethical standards and professional boundaries.
• Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems and able to apply technology effectively for client documentation.
• A collaborative mindset and readiness to engage in teamwork within a multidisciplinary context.

Preferred Experience

• Master's or doctoral degree in a related field from an accredited institution is preferred, enhancing your ability to engage with complex clinical cases.
• Prior experience working in community mental health settings or outpatient clinics is a plus, providing exposure to a range of treatment modalities and client needs.
• Familiarity with telehealth practices and virtual counseling platforms to ensure effective remote service delivery.

Compensation and Benefits

Serene Unity Behavioral Health Center offers a competitive salary range of USD 80,000 – 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
