Serene Healthcare System is on the lookout for a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) to join our team as a full-time professional. This remote position allows you to provide essential mental health services while working from the comfort of your home, helping to improve the lives of patients in our outpatient office in Oyster Bay, New York.

Work Environment

This role offers a primarily remote work setting, allowing counselors the flexibility to manage their schedules while supporting our clients effectively. You will engage in regular team meetings and client sessions via telehealth, reinforcing our commitment to delivering high-quality mental health services. While the standard work hours are Monday to Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, occasional evenings or weekends may be required based on client availability, ensuring accessibility to those in need.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough clinical assessments to understand clients' mental health needs and challenges.
• Develop and implement customized, evidence-based treatment plans that align with individual client goals and preferences.
• Facilitate individual, couples, and group therapy sessions, utilizing appropriate therapeutic interventions to enhance client understanding and coping strategies.
• Collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care for clients.
• Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards by maintaining accurate and confidential client records.
• Participate in ongoing clinical supervision and professional development activities to enhance counseling skills and therapeutic techniques.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The population served by our counseling center is diverse, encompassing individuals struggling with a range of mental health issues, including PTSD, anxiety disorders, addiction, and mood disorders. As a counselor, you will play a critical role in connecting with clients from various backgrounds, understanding their unique circumstances, and helping them navigate their emotional challenges. Your expertise and compassionate approach will be essential in fostering an environment of healing and support.

Qualifications

• A valid New York State license as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC).
• A Master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling or a related field from an accredited institution.
• A demonstrated history of conducting effective individual and group therapy within various mental health contexts.
• Knowledgeable in evidence-based therapeutic techniques relevant to mental health treatment.
• Strong interpersonal skills to establish meaningful rapport with a diverse client base.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in outpatient mental health settings is preferred.
• Familiarity with telehealth platforms and remote counseling methodologies.
• Previous work with specific populations such as veterans, adolescents, or those dealing with substance use disorders is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is between USD 70,000 and 90,000 annually, commensurate with experience and skills. In addition to competitive pay, we offer generous benefits, including:
