PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Under the direction of Supervision, the Welder Fitter completes centrifuge repairs and completes parts using raw material, welding machines and engineering supplied blue prints to meet the production goals in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Requires an individual with a high degree of experience and who is very quality-minded. Work is varied and custom.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Perform custom MIG and TIG welding and Fit Up job duties as required.
· Must be able to expertly weld stainless steel and carbon steel. Advanced welders use a varied of exotic materials.
· Must be able to read blue prints to perform welding and fit-up responsibilities.
· Quality work is an absolute must.
· Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision.
· Must be oriented and capable of meeting daily goals for production.
· Meet a critical ship window to assure company production goals are met.
· Flexible Hours required.
· Must do all of the above safely and responsibly.
· Understand and operate within the guidelines of the QMS.
· Other items deemed necessary by management.
MARGINAL DUTIES:
Operate overhead crane, miscellaneous types of cranes and forklift.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
· Technical School Degree in Welding. May consider an individual with equivalent experience.
· Demonstrated mechanical ability.
· Five years or more welding with fit up experience or the equivalent.
· Communication skills with supervisor, engineer and peers.
· Welding and Shop Safety knowledge.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
· Welding blueprint reading and comprehension.
· Ability to read and comprehend Production Packets in English.
· Ability to effectively communicate in English with Engineering Department and other employees to share information and solve problems.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
· Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals as required on the blue prints and engineering notes.
REASONING ABILITY:
· Able to understand and carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form. Able to comprehend blue prints.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
· Certifications in standard welding procedures and forklifts.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
· Work requires high degree of skill and precision welding techniques. Requires the ability to operate basic hand tools.
