Position Summary
We are seeking a qualifiedย
Transportation Coordinatorย with a strong commitment to social services and older adults to work in ourย
Transportation Services Program.
ย
The Transportation Coordinator will manage Drivers and create/maintain all Older Adult Center program driving routes, schedules, and safety checklists. This ensures drivers can efficiently transport participants to and from Older Adult Services centers, medical appointments, and special events.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage Drivers assigned to QCHโs six (6) Older Adult Center locations.
- Conduct annual evaluations for drivers and assist in training plan development.
- Plan and lead at least four quarterly staff meetings in collaboration with the Division Director of Older Adult Services.
- Enforce QCH Driver/Vehicle Policy rules and regulations.
- Schedule and assign drivers for program participation, medical appointments, and events.
- Maintain a roster of substitute drivers and occasionally fill in as a Driver if needed.
- Coordinate daily safety and maintenance checklist submissions.
- Manage incident report submissions involving participants and/or drivers.
- Coordinate transportation for supplies and agency events/programs.
- Ensure drivers submit accurate trip logs, mileage records, and fuel reports.
- Monitor vehicle cleanliness and communicate maintenance needs to the QCH Fleet Manager.
Qualifications:
- Valid New York State Driverโs License.
- 2+ years of driving experience in New York City.
- At least 1 year of experience working in transportation.
- Sensitivity and ability to work with older adults with patience and flexibility.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Self-motivated, resourceful, and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and database tools.
