Senior Java Developer (Spring Boot & Microservices)

Location: Raleigh, Charlotte, NC / Atlanta, GA(Onsite)
Employment Type: 12+ Months Contract

 

Job Summary - We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Java Developer with strong hands-on experience in Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices to join an enterprise technology team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong backend development background, experience designing and developing scalable microservices-based applications, and excellent communication skills. This role requires someone who can work independently, collaborate effectively with technical and business teams, and contribute hands-on to development and delivery.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java-based applications and microservices.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and integrations.
• Build high-performance, reliable, and secure backend services using Spring Boot.
• Participate in architecture and technical design discussions.
• Write clean, maintainable, testable, and production-ready code.
• Perform code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices.
• Troubleshoot application issues and perform root-cause analysis.
• Collaborate with architects, developers, QA, DevOps, Product Owners, and business stakeholders.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and delivery.
• Support CI/CD pipelines, deployments, and production releases.
• Continuously identify opportunities to improve application performance, scalability, and reliability.

 

Required Technical Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Core Java / Java 8+
• Extensive experience with Spring Boot
• Strong hands-on experience developing Microservices
• Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs and web services
• Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming and Design Patterns
• Experience with Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA and Hibernate
• Strong SQL and relational database experience
• Experience with Git, Maven/Gradle and CI/CD
• Experience with unit and integration testing, preferably JUnit/Mockito
• Good understanding of Agile/Scrum development environments
• Experience troubleshooting and resolving production issues

 

Preferred Skills

• Spring Cloud
• Kafka or other messaging technologies
• Docker and Kubernetes
• AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
• API Gateway / API management
• OAuth2 / JWT / Spring Security
• NoSQL databases such as MongoDB
• Jenkins or similar CI/CD tools
• Experience with enterprise-scale applications
