Senior Corporate & Real Estate Law Clerk

Ottawa, ON | $75,000+ | 4 Weeks Vacation | Pension | Paid Parking


An established downtown Ottawa law practice is seeking an experienced Senior Law Clerk / Legal Administrator for a key, highly trusted position.


  • $75,000+ salary, based on experience
  • 4 weeks paid vacation
  • Pension plan
  • Paid indoor downtown parking
  • Paid fitness/gym membership
  • Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
  • Stable, established Ottawa practice


What You'll Do

  • Manage legal files and deadlines with a high degree of independence
  • Draft, prepare, review and edit legal documents and correspondence
  • Assist with corporate and commercial transactions
  • Support residential and commercial real estate transactions
  • Assist with wills, estates and powers of attorney
  • Communicate directly with clients by phone and email
  • Open files, complete client identification requirements and coordinate retainers
  • Maintain accurate electronic files and corporate records
  • Coordinate calendars, appointments, deadlines and follow-ups
  • Monitor work in progress and support monthly billing
  • Maintain accurate daily docketing and file records
  • Ensure client inquiries and correspondence are handled promptly and professionally
  • Keep the lawyer informed regarding active matters, priorities and deadlines


What We're Looking For:

  • Several years of experience in an Ottawa law firm or similar legal environment
  • Experience as a Law Clerk, Corporate Law Clerk, Real Estate Law Clerk, Senior Legal Assistant, Paralegal or Legal Administrator
  • Experience in corporate/commercial law, real estate and/or wills & estates essential
  • Strong drafting, proofreading and document-management skills
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail
  • Confidence communicating directly with clients
  • The ability to independently manage multiple files and competing priorities
  • Comfort working with legal software and technology
