Job description

The Adjunct Professor - Marine Biology (Elasmobranchs) role centers on teaching-based courses focused on elasmobranch biology within a small team. This position involves a combination of classroom instruction, fieldwork in marine environments, and research activities without travel requirements. The role also includes student mentoring, data analysis, and scientific writing to support academic and research goals.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses focused on elasmobranch biology
  • Conduct research related to marine biology and elasmobranchs
  • Mentor students in academic and research pursuits
  • Participate in fieldwork in marine environments to collect data
  • Analyze scientific data to support research findings
  • Prepare scientific publications and reports
  • Create and prepare exams and course materials

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Marine Biology or a related field
  • Expertise in Marine Biology and Elasmobranch Biology
  • Strong scientific writing skills
  • Experience in student mentoring
