Job description

Job title: US HEVA Neurology Asset/Indication Lead

  • Location: Cambridge, MA or Morristown, NJ (Hybrid - 3 days a week in-office requirement with 20% travel expected)

About the Job

Sanofi is an R&D-driven, AI-powered biopharma company committed to improving people's lives and delivering compelling growth. We apply our deep understanding of the immune system to invent medicines and vaccines that treat and protect millions of people around the world, with an innovative pipeline that could benefit millions more. Our team is guided by one purpose: we chase the miracles of science to improve people's lives; this inspires us to drive Progress and deliver positive impact for our people and the communities we serve, by addressing the most urgent healthcare, environmental, and societal challenges of our time.

Neurology Purpose

Sanofi is committed to being a Neurology powerhouse, delivering a portfolio of first-in-class and best-in-class assets that redefine the standard of care across neurological diseases.

Through a focused and rapidly expanding portfolio of innovative therapies — addressing a range of neurological conditions where patients continue to face significant unmet need — Sanofi aims to address critical gaps in care and deliver meaningful, potentially transformative treatment options for patients living with neurological disorders.

HEVA Vision, Mission, and Values

We are one bold HEOR team leveraging innovative HEOR to transform patient care and access. As HEOR experts, we lead the generation and dissemination of robust, business-relevant evidence to demonstrate value and drive access to medicines. The HEVA organization is driven by five core values that define how we work and deliver impact. We operate as One Team, partnering without boundaries while pursuing a Bold Purpose through ambitious, measurable goals. Grounded in Scientific Excellence with Relevance and deep technical expertise, we embrace Innovation in Action to transform how we research and deliver Impact for People, creating meaningful outcomes for patients, the healthcare ecosystem, and our colleagues who make it all possible.

This role is accountable for leading US HEOR strategy and execution for the neurology pipeline — serving as the primary US HEVA point of contact for the portfolio and partnering cross-functionally to drive the generation, translation, and dissemination of high-quality, decision-relevant evidence to support access in the United States. The role sits at the heart of one of Sanofi's most strategically significant and rapidly evolving portfolios, requiring a combination of deep scientific expertise, strategic thinking, and a sophisticated understanding of the US payer and market access landscape.

You will work in the Neurology team of the Health Economics and Value Assessment (HEVA) department. The HEVA department gathers a wealth of expertise including experts in Health Economic and Outcomes Research (HEOR), Indirect Treatment Comparison & Network Meta-Analysis (ITC/NMA), Modelling, Health Technology Assessment (HTA), Evidence Synthesis, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, and generation of Real World Evidence (RWE). Within HEVA Neurology, you will join a team responsible for HEVA projects across various molecules and indications.

Join the team transforming care for people with immune challenges, rare diseases, cancers, and Specialty Care neurological conditions. In Specialty Care, you’ll help deliver breakthrough treatments that bring hope to patients with some of the highest unmet needs.

About Sanofi

We’re an R&D-driven, AI-powered biopharma company committed to improving people’s lives and delivering compelling growth. Our deep understanding of the immune system – and innovative pipeline – enables us to invent medicines and vaccines that treat and protect millions of people around the world. Together, we chase the miracles of science to improve people’s lives.

Main Responsibilities:

This role operates independently with minimal supervision, working in concert with management direction in accordance with defined functional policies, budgetary guidelines, company values, ethics, and applicable law. The incumbent mentors junior team members on a case-by-case basis and is expected to develop and maintain peer relationships to establish HEVA as a recognized expert in HEOR.

Strategic Business Impact

  • Develop and implement US payer-specific HEVA strategy in close collaboration with cross-functional team members to support the launch and lifecycle management of the neurology pipeline

  • Drive measurable business impact through execution of HEVA tactics that directly support commercial objectives and market access goals compliantly and efficiently

  • Execute comprehensive US HEVA tactics for the neurology portfolio, contributing to strategic planning and ensuring alignment with broader portfolio objectives

  • Partner with commercial teams to translate HEVA insights into actionable business strategies that effectively position the neurology portfolio within the competitive US neurology market

  • Partner with access and medical team members to generate and disseminate actionable, high-impact evidence that addresses US payer evidence requirements and value demonstration in a competitive market

  • Develop business-relevant US research agendas through cross-functional input and alignment, ensuring evidence priorities are reflected in broader Sanofi planning documents, including the Integrated Evidence Generation Plan (IEGP)

  • Set HEOR evidence generation priorities independently for assigned neurology indications and translate Target Value Propositions and US market access strategies into evidence hypotheses, requirements, and generation plans that address the unmet needs of payers, providers, and health systems

Internal Partnerships and Senior Management Engagement

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional teams — including commercial, medical affairs, clinical development, and market access — to ensure pricing and access decisions are aligned with the demonstrable value of the neurology pipeline

  • Align closely with the Global HEVA team to ensure US insights inform global strategies and coordinate evidence generation, modeling, and evidence synthesis activities

  • Communicate complex health economics concepts and strategic recommendations to cross-functional stakeholders with clarity and impact, including presentations to senior leadership

  • Influence key business decisions through data-driven insights and strategic HEVA recommendations

  • Ensure clinical development plans for neurology indications are designed to deliver true differentiation aligned to Sanofi's best-in-class or first-in-class ambition, with particular attention to US payer value demonstration

  • Contribute to US launch readiness planning for the neurology portfolio, serving as the HEVA subject matter expert across internal governance forums and brand team meetings

Health Economics Research and Evidence Generation

  • Lead the design and execution of Health Economic and Outcomes Research (HEOR) activities for the neurology pipeline, spanning multiple indications at various stages of development

  • Oversee the design, execution, and publication of high-quality HEOR studies — including economic modeling, database analysis, observational research, Clinical Outcomes Assessment (COA) development and validation, systematic literature reviews, evidence synthesis, and AMCP dossier development

  • Apply proficiency in economic modeling and COAs to generate evidence that is compelling to US payers, HTA bodies, and other decision-makers

  • Understand, create, and apply relevant HEOR methods — including observational data analysis, post hoc analysis of clinical trials, meta-analysis, and indirect treatment comparisons — to demonstrate the value potential of pipeline assets

  • Execute all HEVA tactics at the highest level of quality to compliantly further HEOR evidence dissemination, application, and proactive and/or promotional use with US stakeholders (HCEI, PIE)

  • Apply data-driven decision-making frameworks to prioritize evidence gaps and guide research investment decisions for the neurology portfolio, ensuring alignment between identified data gaps and strategic evidence generation priorities

  • Contribute to the development of comprehensive real-world evidence strategies that support product lifecycle management across the neurology portfolio

Stakeholder Engagement and External Partnerships

  • Represent Sanofi at major scientific conferences and industry forums, leading abstract development and presentation delivery for the neurology portfolio

  • Develop collaborative research relationships with US payers and other key decision-makers to identify strategies that improve the impact of HEOR and build advocates for Sanofi's data

  • Collaborate with external research partners and key opinion leaders to advance HEVA strategy and tactical plans in neurology

  • Work with the team lead to engage with external evidence bodies (ICER, PDAB, IRA) and apply knowledge of their requirements to shape evidence generation and value demonstration strategies for the neurology portfolio

  • Build and sustain productive working relationships with patient advocacy organizations in the neurology space

  • Manage HEVA research investments and vendor relationships for assigned neurology indications, ensuring delivery of evidence generation priorities within budget constraints

Leadership & Team Contribution

  • Operate independently with minimal supervision, exercising sound scientific and strategic judgment in the design and prioritization of HEOR activities

  • Mentor junior HEVA team members on a case-by-case basis, sharing expertise in neurology HEOR methods, US payer dynamics, and evidence generation best practices

  • Develop and maintain peer relationships across the HEVA organization and with cross-functional partners to establish HEVA as a recognized center of excellence in neurology HEOR

  • Anticipate communication needs across cross-functional audiences and pre-empt issues with timely and effective action

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of HEVA processes, tools, and capabilities within the neurology franchise

Regulatory & Compliance Knowledge

  • Apply knowledge of global and US-specific HTA processes and guidelines; experience with HTA submissions strongly preferred

  • Ensure all HEOR activities comply with relevant internal SOPs and external laws and regulations

  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the legal and regulatory environment of the pharmaceutical industry, with demonstrated integrity on compliance considerations and solid ethics

  • Stay current with evolving US payer policies, formulary management practices, and outcomes-based contracting frameworks relevant to neurology

Digital & AI Proficiency

  • Apply working proficiency with HEOR-relevant digital tools and data platforms to enhance the efficiency and quality of evidence generation

  • Leverage digital and AI-enabled solutions to accelerate systematic literature reviews, evidence synthesis, and economic modeling workflows

  • Maintain foundational knowledge of AI and digital tools relevant to health economics, including familiarity with data analytics platforms; demonstrate willingness to develop proficiency with new AI-enabled solutions to support HEOR research and evidence generation

  • Stay current with emerging digital methodologies relevant to HEOR and champion their adoption within the neurology HEVA team

  • US product launch experience with a strong understanding of US payer evidence requirements and value demonstration in a competitive market

  • Understanding of US healthcare system and payer dynamics, with ability to translate evidence into strategic insights

  • Demonstrated experience applying a broad range of HEOR methods to specific research projects, including economic modeling, observational research, evidence synthesis, and COA development
