Salary: $55,000-$60,000
Summary:
The Field Inspector plays a key role in overseeing daily operations on underground construction projects, ensuring work is completed safely, accurately, and in line with company standards and project requirements. Responsibilities include performing site inspections, documenting field conditions, tracking daily progress, and keeping open communication with the project management team. Familiarity with telecommunications and horizontal directional drilling (HDD) is highly valued.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in construction or a similar role is preferred
- Solid understanding of construction work and job site safety
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable using basic tech tools like email, photos, and digital forms
- Able to work independently, stay organized, and manage time well
- Must have a valid drivers license
Responsibilities:
- Visit assigned job sites daily to check that work is being done correctly and safely
- Keep detailed notes and take photos of field conditions
- Track daily progress and report any issues or delays
- Make sure work follows plans, specs, and company standards
- Work closely with the project management team to share updates and flag any concerns
- Help resolve on-site issues as they come up
- Keep inspection records organized and up to date
- Attend project meetings as needed to provide input from the field
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to walk and stand for long periods, including on uneven ground
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather
- Occasionally need to lift up to 25 lbs
