Digital OnSite Lead (Industrial Automation & Digital Systems)
Travel-Based Across the U.S. | Occasional International Travel
About the Role
We are partnering with aglobal leader in high-speed production and packaging systems to hire a Digital OnSite Lead responsible for supporting the deployment and stabilization of digital tools during production line commissioning.
This is a field-driven, hands-on role at the intersection of automation, industrial IT (IT/OT), and digital manufacturing systems. You will act as the onsite owner of digital systems, ensuring seamless integration between production equipment, networks, and data platforms.
What You’ll Do
- Lead onsite digital readiness and system stability during commissioning of production lines
- Act as the primary onsite interface between Program Leadership, IT teams, customers, and commissioning teams
- Support deployment, validation, and stabilization of digital tools connected to production lines
- Troubleshoot issues across automation systems, industrial networks, and digital platforms
- Coordinate software updates, onboarding, and system integrations onsite
- Monitor and report project progress, risks, and deviations
- Ensure data accuracy, validation, and system performance during commissioning phases
What You’ll Work With
- Production line environments (bottling, packaging, manufacturing systems)
- Industrial automation systems (PLCs, HMIs, line control systems)
- Industrial networking (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, plant networks)
- Digital manufacturing tools (data tracking, system monitoring, OEE platforms
- IT/OT integration environments (bridging production systems with digital tools)
What We’re Looking For
1. Core Experience
- Hands-on experience in commissioning, startup, or field support of industrial systems
- Background working with production lines (bottling, packaging, or manufacturing)
- Experience supporting or interacting with digital tools or data systems in production environments
- Strong onsite troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
2. Technical Background
- Electrical Engineering, Automation, or Industrial IT / Networking background
- Experience with industrial networks or Cisco-based environments (CCNA/CCNP preferred)
- Familiarity with automation systems (PLCs, HMIs) — not necessarily programming-heavy, but comfortable working around them
3. Soft Skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder coordination abilities
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, onsite commissioning environments
- Ability to operate independently and take ownership at customer sites
Travel
Extensive travel across the U.S. (majority of time onsite at customer facilities)
Occasional travel to U.S. headquarters (Wisconsin) and global HQ (Germany)
