Position Overview

Inner Strength Holistic Well-Being Clinic is seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team on a full-time basis. Located in the heart of Salinas, California, and operating in a remote work setting, you will play a crucial role in guiding patients towards recovery from substance use disorders. Your expertise will contribute to creating a supportive environment where individuals and families can thrive as they navigate the complexities of addiction recovery.

About the Organization

At Inner Strength Holistic Well-Being Clinic, we specialize in providing comprehensive, evidence-based care to individuals confronting addiction. Our approach is rooted in the belief that healing involves addressing both the physical and emotional aspects of recovery, giving patients the tools and strategies they need to reclaim their lives. We pride ourselves on fostering a collaborative atmosphere where each team member is valued for their unique contributions to our patients' journeys.

Work Environment

As a remote outpatient facility, Inner Strength offers flexibility and an environment designed for optimal patient care. Our team collaborates effectively through digital means, ensuring that therapists can maintain a strong connection with both colleagues and patients. The outpatient setting allows for personalized one-on-one interactions while also offering group therapy opportunities, making it essential for our counselors to be adept at managing virtual sessions while creating a warm, welcoming presence online.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments for individuals seeking treatment for substance use disorders, utilizing diagnostic tools and intake interviews.
  • Design and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to the specific needs and goals of each patient, ensuring adherence to best practices in mental health care.
  • Facilitate individual counseling sessions employing techniques such as motivational interviewing and cognitive-behavioral therapy to empower patients in their recovery journey.
  • Lead dynamic group therapy sessions, encouraging shared experiences and community support among participants.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, addiction medicine specialists, and other healthcare professionals to guarantee integrated treatment and holistic care strategies.
  • Provide urgent crisis intervention on call during substance-related emergencies, ensuring immediate support is available.
  • Educate patients and their families about addiction recovery processes, healthy coping mechanisms, and available community resources to aid their journey.
  • Maintain secure, accurate, and confidential patient records in accordance with HIPAA regulations and ethical standards.
  • Engage in regular team meetings, weekly case consultations, and ongoing professional development to stay abreast of advancements in addiction treatment.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This role focuses on a diverse population of individuals struggling with substance use disorders, ranging from early recovery patients to those with chronic addiction challenges. Our clinic takes a holistic approach, addressing not only the addiction itself but also the underlying psychological, social, and spiritual aspects, thus requiring a deep understanding of recovery challenges faced by patients and their families.

Qualifications
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Active and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT within California.
  • In-depth knowledge of substance use disorders, recovery-oriented care, and a variety of evidence-based treatment modalities.
  • Proven experience in conducting both individual and group therapy specific to addiction treatment, with a knack for adapting strategies based on patient needs.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities, with a compassionate, non-judgmental approach to patient engagement.
  • Proficient in maintaining professional boundaries and ethics, ensuring confidentiality in all aspects of patient interactions.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and other digital tools to support effective documentation and care coordination.
Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience in a remote counseling role or demonstrated ability to deliver telehealth services effectively.
  • Specific training or certifications in addiction treatment or specialized therapeutic modalities.
  • Experience in leading group therapy sessions, with a strong understanding of group dynamics and therapeutic techniques.
Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is competitive, ranging from USD 100,000 to 120,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to financial compensation, we offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes:

  • Robust healthcare benefits, covering medical, dental, and vision care.
  • A retirement savings plan with employer-matching contributions.
  • Generous paid time off (PTO) policies, including holiday pay to ensure work-life balance.
  • Professional liability insurance coverage for added peace of mind.
  • Ongoing professional development support, including access to continuing education opportunities.
  • Clear pathways for career advancement within our specialized substance use disorders treatment program.
  • A collaborative, inclusive, and supportive team culture.
Career Growth Opportunities

As a member of our team, you will have access to mentorship programs, workshops, and training sessions that will enhance your skills and knowledge. Numerous opportunities exist for advancement within the organization, depending on your aspirations and interests in the field of addiction counseling.

Why Join Our Team

Joining Inner Strength means becoming part of a mission-driven organization that values the well-being of its employees as much as that of its patients.
