This full-time position offers the opportunity to engage with clients through individual and group therapy, while developing tailored treatment plans to support mental health and well-being. The role requires both clinical expertise and compassion as you work to empower clients on their journey to recovery.

About the Organization

Located in Arvada, Colorado, Safe Place Counseling Center is a forward-thinking community health clinic committed to providing comprehensive mental health services. Our mission is to foster a safe and supportive environment for individuals and families experiencing mental health challenges. We prioritize creating a collaborative space where team members can contribute, grow, and make a meaningful difference in their community.

Work Environment

This position operates in a remote work setting, allowing you to manage your schedule while addressing the mental health needs of our clients. Our virtual methods do not compromise on engagement—we employ advanced telehealth technologies and electronic health record systems, such as AVATAR, to ensure seamless communication and care delivery. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of professionals, including psychologists, social workers, and medical staff, all collaborating to enhance client outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough initial mental health evaluations and interviews, carefully documenting client histories and treatment progress.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans that incorporate therapeutic interventions tailored to clients’ unique needs.
  • Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, ensuring a safe space for expression and growth.
  • Regularly monitor clients’ progress in treatment and adjust plans as necessary to support recovery goals.
  • Maintain communication with other health professionals, sharing insights and collaborating on interventions.
  • Support the discharge planning process for clients transitioning from hospital care to outpatient services.
  • Engage with clients and their families to educate and assist them in navigating mental health challenges.
  • Implement prevention strategies to identify and mitigate potential relapse triggers.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The clients you will be working with include individuals across various ages and backgrounds dealing with a multitude of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use disorders. At Safe Place Counseling Center, we believe in a holistic approach to care, where understanding the multifaceted nature of mental health is crucial for healing. As such, you will be encouraged to address underlying physical health conditions and co-occurring disorders, promoting an integrative perspective in treatment.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
  • Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in Colorado is mandatory.
  • A passing score on the NCE and/or NCMHCE is necessary.
  • Demonstrated experience as a mental health counselor or psychotherapist.
  • Proficiency with electronic health record systems, specifically AVATAR, is highly desirable.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working with diverse populations and individuals dealing with complex diagnoses.
  • Familiarity with the best practices outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
  • Comfort with evaluating the implications of prescribed medications on mental health.
  • Strong writing and communication skills to effectively document client progress and collaborate with a team of professionals.
  • An empathetic approach and outstanding interpersonal skills to foster trusting relationships with clients and their families.
Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary range of $80,000 to $100,000 annually, along with a sign-on bonus for eligible candidates. Our comprehensive benefits package includes:

  • Robust healthcare insurance covering medical, dental, and vision needs.
  • A retirement savings plan with employer contributions to enhance your financial future.
  • Generous paid time off, including vacation days and holiday pay, to promote work-life balance.
  • Opportunities for continuing education and professional development to support career advancement.
  • A collaborative team environment that values input, encourages innovation, and fosters a supportive culture.
