Job description

9-12 Teacher of Multilingual Learners

Saco School Department seeks an enthusiastic and compassionate educator to facilitate and support learning for our multilingual learners. The ideal candidate will have an ability to reach a variety of learners, creative and accountable lesson planning, and attention to detail. It will be important for the candidate to have a MDOE teacher endorsement #660 or be eligible to obtain one. With a student centered attitude, this position will support students to be their very best. 

The Saco School Department works with 9-12 school, Thornton Academy to provide services for multilingual learners in scenic Saco, Maine. Their programs include a strong core curricular program as well as elective courses, special education programs, and unified arts for students.

Position Purpose:

Teachers of Multilingual learners will create individualized student plans and support students in the regular education setting under the supervision of the District ESOL Coordinator and Building Leader. Our new teachers will be part of a strong team of teachers of multilingual learners to support continuity of programming Prekindergarten through grade twelve.
 

Essential Functions:

Exemplary organizational skills and a background in English language acquisition skills are desired in order to welcome multilingual students to our district.
