Job Description – Heavy Equipment Operator / Pipe Layer / Foreman

Swift Underground, LLC Pay: $30–$40 per hour (DOE)

Swift Underground, LLC is seeking motivated, experienced individuals who can operate heavy equipment, install underground utilities, and take on foreman-level responsibilities in the field. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in quality work, leads by example, and thrives in a fast‐paced construction environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, backhoes, loaders, and skid steers with precision and safety

• Lay and install underground utilities including water, sewer, storm drain, and conduit

• Read and interpret plans, grades, and job specifications

• Perform trenching, shoring, backfilling, and compaction to required standards

• Lead and coordinate a crew to ensure efficient workflow and high‐quality workmanship

• Communicate with project managers, inspectors, and other team members

• Maintain a safe jobsite and enforce company safety policies

• Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance

• Troubleshoot issues in the field and provide solutions to keep the project moving

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating heavy equipment in underground utility construction

• Strong knowledge of pipe installation methods and grade checking

• Ability to lead a crew and manage daily jobsite activities

• Understanding of OSHA safety requirements

• Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions

• Reliable transportation and strong work ethic

• CDL is a plus but not required

Compensation

• $30–$40 per hour, depending on experience and skill level

• Opportunities for overtime and advancement
