Job description

STS Technical Services is hiring a Maintenance Technician in West Point, Mississippi, to install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair industrial machinery and facility systems.
This role supports mechanical and electrical production equipment, including conveyors, presses and robotics, while also assisting with HVAC, plumbing, carpentry and other general facility maintenance needs.
Position Overview
The Maintenance Technician performs preventive maintenance, repairs and troubleshooting on production equipment and facility systems.
This position requires experience with industrial automation equipment, general trades and mechanical systems, along with the ability to read schematics and document completed maintenance activities.
Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on electrical and mechanical production equipment
  • Monitor equipment performance, safety and effectiveness
  • Perform equipment failure analysis
  • Complete preventive and unscheduled maintenance
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment problems
  • Install, repair and maintain electrical components and mechanical systems
  • Maintain conveyors, presses, robotics and related industrial equipment
  • Document equipment modifications and maintenance activities in the designated system
  • Install, inspect, repair and maintain mechanical systems
  • Support electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety and waste management systems
  • Follow standard operating procedures during maintenance activities
  • Assist with facility projects including painting, drywall and carpentry
  • Install fixtures as needed
  • Move furniture and materials within the facility
  • Use the work order system to document maintenance activities
  • Work with or assist trades contractors on projects and complex repairs
  • Follow all safety regulations and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Familiarity with industrial automation equipment including presses, conveyors and robotics
  • Familiarity with HVAC, plumbing, carpentry and limited electrical work
  • Ability to install, troubleshoot and maintain mechanical systems
  • Ability to install, troubleshoot and maintain facility systems
  • Ability to read and understand schematics
  • Willingness to perform physically demanding maintenance tasks
  • Must qualify as a U.S. Person

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
  • Ability to climb ladders
  • Ability to crawl as required
  • Ability to work in extreme cold and hot temperatures
  • Ability to squat and kneel
  • Ability to push and pull
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
