THE ROLE
STRIVE Recruitment is proud to be partnering with a successful and growing manufacturing organization in Abbotsford to recruit a Controller. Reporting directly to the CFO, this is a key leadership opportunity for an experienced Controller who wants to make a meaningful impact across both the finance function and wider business operations.
This Controller role is ideal for a hands-on and commercially minded CPA who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment where finance plays a central role in driving performance, supporting decision-making, and improving processes. You will lead the accounting function while partnering closely with operations and senior leadership to help shape the future direction of the business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Leadership & Reporting
- Lead all core accounting functions including AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger
- Oversee month-end, year-end, and financial statement preparation
- Deliver variance analysis and meaningful financial insights to leadership
- Manage the external audit process and maintain strong internal controls
Manufacturing Finance & Commercial Support
- Own cost accounting, inventory valuation, and margin analysis
- Partner with operations to understand production drivers and improve profitability
- Manage working capital, cash flow, and forecasting
- Support investment and growth decisions through robust financial analysis
Planning, Forecasting & Systems Improvement
- Lead annual budgeting and rolling forecast processes
- Improve reporting, dashboards, and financial visibility
- Act as finance lead for ERP enhancements and process improvements
- Drive automation and continuous improvement initiatives
Leadership & Business Partnership
- Lead, coach, and develop the finance team
- Build a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
- Collaborate closely with operations, supply chain, and executive leadership
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- CPA designation is required
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership experience
- Background within manufacturing, distribution, or product-based environments
- Strong expertise in cost accounting, inventory, budgeting, and financial reporting
- ERP systems experience (Dynamics NAV / D365 preferred)
- Strong communication skills with the ability to partner across the business
- A hands-on leadership style with both strategic and operational capability
