Status: Full Time, 12-month faculty member
Posted: August 3, 2026

St. Andrew’s School develops the independence, character, mind, and spirit of its students to prepare them for lives of citizenship, service, and purpose. Be at the center of this mission by joining the school as thedirector of inclusion and belonging, a member of our student programs leadership team.

All students live, learn, and play in the natural beauty of our 2,200-acre campus. At the center of our Episcopal school community are curious, motivated, and diverse students who are accepted without regard to their families’ means. Each young person is challenged and valued, and students are truly known by the life-long mentors who teach, coach, and advise them. Human connection, face to face, is the foundation of our program. Friendship and joy define our spirit; “Faith and Learning” is our motto.

Position Summary:
St. Andrew’s commitment to diversity, inclusion, equity, and belonging is rooted in the tradition of our Episcopal faith, through which we acknowledge with love and respect the dignity and humanity of every person. In that tradition, we reject racism, bigotry, sexism, and intolerance in all their forms, and we aspire to love and hear each other with humility, when that practice is joyous and when it is difficult. Programs ensure that these precepts support excellence in the classroom, in the chapel, in residential life, in co-curricular activities, and in alumni affairs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Designing and leading a school-wide multi-stakeholder program to build an inclusive culture and strengthen St. Andrew’s community of many beliefs and points of view, including oversight of relevant budget.
  • Collaborating formally and regularly with colleagues across the school and with the associate head of school to ensure the strategic alignment, communication, and coordinated success of the program.
  • Organizing and leading the Leadership and Equity Program, which is designed to develop in students important skills to have difficult conversations with humility and openness, recognizing that our differences are a strength of our school and our future communities.
  • Assembling and advising the Student Diversity Committee; collaborating with student leadership to design the meetings to accomplish annual events or other objectives.
  • Serving as faculty advisor to a variety of student groups, organizing and supporting the programming of student affinity groups and clubs, including training and supporting affinity group faculty advisors.
  • Designing and organizing, with collaboration from students, faculty, and stakeholders, two signature annual programs: UNITED conference, Thomas H. Hooper Conference, as well as other annual celebrations such as MLK Day and months and days recognizing cultures and heritages represented in our community.
  • With the chaplain and student groups, help design and organize education and celebration of holidays such as Passover, Diwali, Eid, and others that are important spiritual moments for our community.
  • Advise associate head of school and student programs leadership team in formulating and implementing practices that prevent, surface, and respond to violations of community norms in a restorative manner.
  • Chairing the Faculty Committee for Inclusion and Belonging, organizing regular meetings and agendas to make progress toward our objectives.

Faculty Responsibilities:
As a member of the faculty in our fully residential community, the director will be expected to perform the following duties:

  • Dormitory duty once or twice a week.
  • Serving as an advisor.
  • Participation in school committees and activities.

Candidates with an interest and appropriate qualifications may also live in or supervise a dormitory, teach, or coach.Candidates with these capabilities are especially encouraged to apply.

Job Requirements

  • At least five years of teaching experience and relevant experience in inclusion and belonging work in a school or higher education.
  • A proven track record of success in developing and implementing events and programs.
  • A sense of humor, high energy, and a high level of professionalism in a fast-paced and collaborative setting.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, analytical, organizational, and written/oral communication skills.
  • Enthusiasm for working and living with adolescents and the ability to connect with a wide array of staff, faculty, students, and families.
  • A valid driver’s license.

Conditions of Hire:
