Principal/Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate excavators and other heavy machinery to perform excavation tasks.
- Read and interpret blueprints and site plans.
- Ensure the safe and efficient operation of equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on machinery.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
- Assist in the planning and execution of construction projects.
- Load and unload materials as needed.
- Monitor and control the depth and grade of excavations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues with equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed.
- Coordinate with other operators and workers on site.
- Follow project timelines and meet deadlines.
- Ensure the work area is clean and safe.
- Report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions.
- Participate in safety meetings and training sessions.
- Assist with other construction tasks as needed.
- Operate machinery in various weather conditions.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
- Provide input on improving operational efficiency.
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience operating excavators.
- Strong understanding of construction processes.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and site plans.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols.
- Basic mechanical skills for equipment maintenance.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends.
- Knowledge of environmental regulations.
- Ability to operate other heavy machinery is a plus.
- Ability to follow instructions and meet deadlines.
- Valid driver's license.
