SUMMARY:
Sandblasts, grinds, scrapes and/or sands metal surfaces to groove, bevel, round, straighten edges, remove excess material, improve cosmetics, etc. as specified by drawings, job orders, or guidelines by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Complies to all guidelines outlined in the company Quality and Safety Manuals while performing tasks which includes Personal Protective Equipment.
- Positions material manually or by using jib crane.
- Inserts selected blast media into blast pot and performs work.
- Uses stationary equipment
- Inspects work frequently to ensure compliance to work instructions.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or GED; One-year related Sandblasting experience or Fab/Metal shop experience
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Must be certified in forklift operation per Springs Fabrication standards, within 30 days of accepting this position. Must be certified in rigging operation per Springs Fabrication Standards, within 30 days of accepting this position.
SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Must have a strong work ethic. Require minimum amount of supervision. Good organizational and communication skills. Understand how to use basic hand tools.

Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
