Job description

DHS Percussion Sponsor ($1,000 Stipend)

Responsibilities: 

  • Support the Band Director in the instruction and supervision of the high school percussion section.
  • Assist students with percussion technique, music preparation, timing, and ensemble performance.
  • Conduct or assist with percussion sectionals and designated rehearsals.
  • Help prepare percussion students for marching band performances, concerts, competitions, football games, and other school events.
  • Assist with the setup, breakdown, organization, and care of percussion instruments and equipment.
  • Supervise students during rehearsals, performances, travel, and other band-related activities as assigned.
  • Promote student safety, appropriate behavior, teamwork, and adherence to school and district expectations.
  • Communicate with the Band Director regarding student progress, attendance, equipment needs, and performance preparation.
  • Attend designated after-school, evening, weekend, and summer activities as agreed upon with the Band Director.
  • Perform other reasonable percussion-related duties consistent with the scope of the stipend position.
