GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Responsible for providing a friendly,knowledgeable and easily identifiable uniformed presence. The initialpoint of contact for all members, member cultivators, serviceproviders, the general public and official/law enforcement agencies.Responsible for ensuring that all staff and members are complying withdispensary policies and state laws and must always be vigilant of theactivity occurring inside and outside the dispensary and other SPARCfacilities. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.)
  • Maintain a high level of customer service at alltimes.
  • Greet members, serviceproviders, member cultivators,staffand communityrepresentatives in a friendly andcourteousmanner.
  • Monitor and authorize memberflow entry and/or exit of facility.
  • Check person(s) entering the building for a valid membershipand ID.
  • Assist with memberregistration, as requested.
  • Continuously patrol all dispensary premises, main office,Healing Center, etc., as well as other SPARC facilities whenneeded.
  • Observe, identify and reportevents which may includecriminaland/or nuisance activity,unsafe or dangerousconditions, fire andlife safety hazardsand other siterelated events to manager.
  • Explain and enforce laws, city ordinances, Code of Conduct,and/or regulations to all visitors and/or staff.
  • Complete incident reports and log booksdaily.
  • Communicate over radio andcoordinate other activities.
  • Maintain cleanliness of outside areas at all times,includingremoving debris and completing opening/closingchecklists.
  • Complete closingjanitorial procedures.
  • Maintainstrictest confidentiality.
  • Perform other related work as required.

Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiplyanddivide with 10's and 100's.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general educationdegree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/ortraining; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Oneyear experience referred, prior security guard and customer serviceexperience required. Experience in the medical cannabis industry ishighly desirable, but not required. Bi-lingual Spanish speaker highlydesirable. Must be eligible to obtain a California Guard Card. Must be21 years old and pass criminal background check.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work requires prolonged sitting and/orstanding up to six (6) hours, some bending, stooping and stretching.Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient tooperate a radio and other equipment. Requires normal range of hearingand eyesight to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports.Requires lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed in a busy cannabisdispensary. The dispensary area is very loud due to fans andfiltration systems, fluctuating between extreme cold and hottemperatures. Involves frequent contact with staff and the public.Must have a strong comfort level to interact with members andco-workers, as well as local law enforcement. Work may be stressful attimes and may include dealing with
difficult people. Available to work varied hours/days, includingnights, weekends, holidays, and/or city events.
