Job description

Wings Recovery is hiring a Primary Therapist in Carlsbad, CA!

The Mental Health Therapist is responsible for providing direct service to clients, and for facilitating the smooth day-to-day operation of the program. The Staff Therapist collaborates as a member of the multidisciplinary team (Treatment Team) to deliver effective treatment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain appropriate boundaries with clients
  • Perform biopsychosocial assessments, treatment planning and discharge planning
  • Review treatment plan goals with clients regularly
  • Support clients in accessing community resources
  • Provide individual and group therapy
  • Provide suicide screenings, assessments and re-assessments
  • Be aware of and eliminate stressors in the facility
  • Be aware of potential crisis and manage the program to decrease crisis
  • Inform Clinical Director of significant events in a timely manner
  • Communicate accurate and timely information within guidelines
  • All charts, program documentation, medication management, incident reports and other forms/reports are completed according to the defined
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Master’s in Counseling Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Clinical Social Work. Valid AMFT or ACSW.
  • One year full-time experience working directly with clients in a program serving people with mental illness preferred.
  • Knowledge of and belief in the principles of client centered treatment. Knowledge of medications and interventions preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team player. Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
  • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record and personal automobile insurance.
  • Hiring is contingent upon receiving DOJ/FBI fingerprint clearance or an exemption, a submission of a signed Criminal Record Statement (LIC 508), a TB test, and clearance on an employment physical.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification is preferred prior to employment.
