About the Role:

The Corporate Tax Accountant plays a critical role in managing and optimizing the company’s tax obligations to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations. This position is responsible for preparing and reviewing complex corporate tax returns, identifying tax planning opportunities, and minimizing tax liabilities through strategic analysis. The role requires collaboration with internal finance teams and external auditors to support tax audits and resolve any tax-related issues efficiently. The Corporate Tax Accountant will also stay current with evolving tax laws and regulations to proactively advise the company on potential impacts and opportunities. Ultimately, this position ensures the company’s tax strategy aligns with overall financial goals while maintaining strict adherence to regulatory requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in corporate tax accounting or public accounting with a focus on corporate tax.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency in tax preparation software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • 2 years minimum experience with QuickBooks Online.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Taxation or Accounting preferred
  • Familiarity with tax accounting software such as Lacerte or similar platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA certification or equivalent professional accounting designation a plus

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, review, and file federal, state, and local corporate tax returns accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Conduct detailed tax research and analysis to identify tax savings and compliance risks.
  • Collaborate with finance, legal, and external auditors to support tax audits and resolve inquiries.
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the company’s tax position.
  • Develop and implement tax planning strategies to optimize the company’s tax liabilities.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of tax filings, positions, and supporting workpapers.
  • Assist in the preparation of tax provisions and financial statement disclosures related to income taxes.
  • Provide guidance and training to internal teams on tax compliance and reporting requirements.
