Role Description This is a contract, on-site Environmental Health Safety Specialist role based in Devens, MA. The specialist will support and improve EHS programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company standards. Typical responsibilities include conducting risk assessments, inspections, and audits; identifying hazards; recommending corrective actions; and monitoring implementation. The role involves delivering safety training, maintaining EHS documentation and incident reports, and driving continuous improvement in workplace safety practices. The specialist will collaborate with operations, leadership, and cross-functional teams to promote a strong safety culture and environmental stewardship.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct workplace safety inspections, audits, and hazard/risk assessments

• Identify unsafe conditions and implement corrective & preventive actions

• Track EHS metrics including TRIR, Lost Time Incidents, Near Misses & Safety Observations

• Support JSA, risk assessments, and ergonomic evaluations

• Investigate workplace incidents and participate in root cause analysis

• Track CAPA effectiveness and support regulatory/internal audits

• Drive sustainability, waste reduction, and environmental compliance initiatives

• Deliver EHS training, toolbox talks, and safety awareness programs

• Partner with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality & HR teams

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in EHS, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or related field

• 2–5 years of EHS experience in manufacturing, industrial, warehousing, or production environments

• Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, ISO 14001 & ISO 45001

• Experience with safety audits, incident investigations, JSA, risk assessments & regulatory compliance

• Strong communication, documentation & problem-solving skills

• ASP/CSP certification preferred
