About Us

SANY Nutrition Group LLC is a growing manufacturer of protein bars, functional snacks, confectionery, and bakery products. We develop and produce innovative products for private label and branded customers, combining food science expertise with modern manufacturing to deliver high-quality products across North America.

We are looking for an experienced and innovative Research & Development (R&D) Manager who is passionate about creating high-quality food products and driving innovation in the functional snacks and bakery industry. The successful candidate will lead new product development, product optimization, and commercialization while ensuring products meet customer expectations, regulatory requirements, and manufacturing capabilities. This role works closely with Operations, Quality Assurance, Procurement, and Sales to bring innovative concepts from ideation to full-scale production.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development of new products from concept through commercialization.
• Improve existing formulations to enhance quality, taste, nutrition, shelf life, and manufacturing efficiency.
• Develop and optimize recipes for protein bars, functional snacks, bakery products, fillings, coatings, and related food products.
• Conduct product trials, pilot runs, and production scale-up while ensuring successful technology transfer to manufacturing.
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance to ensure compliance with FDA regulations, SQF standards, customer requirements, and food safety programs.
• Work with Procurement to identify and evaluate new ingredients and suppliers while managing formulation costs.
• Partner with Production to troubleshoot manufacturing challenges and improve process efficiency.
• Maintain accurate product specifications, formulations, processing instructions, and technical documentation.
• Stay informed on industry trends, consumer insights, ingredient innovations, and emerging food technologies.
• Support customer projects, private label developments, and customized product solutions.
• Ensure all products comply with labeling, nutritional, allergen, and regulatory requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on product quality, innovation, cost optimization, and speed to market.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
• Minimum of 5 years of R&D experience in the food manufacturing industry.
• Experience developing protein bars, functional snacks, confectionery, bakery products, or similar food products is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of food ingredients, formulation, processing technologies, and product commercialization.
• Understanding of FDA regulations, GMP, HACCP, SQF, and food safety standards.
• Experience conducting plant trials and supporting manufacturing scale-up.
• Excellent problem-solving, project management, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and formulation or specification management systems is an advantage.
