Type: Full-time | Perm | Hybrid

Location: Royal Oak, MI


Overview:

Our client, a leading architecture and planning firm, is seeking an Architect II and a Senior Architect III to join their productive team as skilled, independent contributors. You will work across multiple project phases in healthcare and commercial work, take on real technical responsibilities, and be supported by a senior team that invests in your developmehnt. You will be contributing to design, code research, consultant coordination, and construction administration from day one.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop architectural drawings and details across multiple project phases with growing independence, under periodic direction from senior staff.
  • Perform code and zoning research (IBC, ADA/ABA, state and local codes).
  • Compile, document, and present findings to senior staff with increasing accuracy and depth.
  • Coordinate with project team members and consultants on drawing production, model updates, and design issue resolution.
  • Participate in design team meetings and site visits.
  • Begin contributing substantively to technical discussions.
  • Assist with specification sections and product research under senior guidance.
  • Develop familiarity with CSI format and spec writing conventions.
  • Support construction administration tasks, including RFI draft preparation, submittal logging, and punch list documentation.
  • Provide guidance to the Architect I team members on production tasks and standards.


Qualifications & Requirements:

  • A professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch) from an accredited program is required.
  • Licensed Architect is required for the Senior Architect III position.
  • 5–18 years of professional experience within an architectural and planning firm.
  • Must have strong experience with healthcare and commercial architectural projects.
  • Experience contributing to multiple project phases (SD through CDs) is required.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam.
  • Solid working knowledge of building codes, construction materials, and project delivery methods.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with increasing independence on a defined project scope.
  • Must (currently) live close enough to Royal Oak, MI to work several days on-site (Hybrid).
