What You'll Do
As an Animal Care Technician (PAWS), you'll support a safe, clean, and humane environment for Animals in a Government setting while helping the public navigate animal care services. Key responsibilities include providing excellent customer service while participating in animal intakes, owner reclaims, adoptions, and providing accurate information and education as needed, monitoring shelter animals for health behavior concerns, as well as available kennel space, completing a thorough inventory of all animals in the shelter twice daily and communicating information regarding an animal's condition to staff and management, feeding and watering, cleaning and sanitizing kennels and equipment, monitoring animal health and behavior, assisting with intake and basic handling, and maintaining accurate logs.
Required qualifications/skills:
- Comfort working hands-on with Animals in a shelter environment
- Ability to follow safety procedures, written instructions, and established protocols
- Dependable attendance, teamwork, and customer-focused communication
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift as needed during shifts
