Job Details
Job Summary: The Apprenticeship Programs Manager is responsible for overseeing RurAL CAP's Registered Apprenticeship and Youth Apprenticeship programs, in partnership with employer and industry sponsors. In addition, this position is responsible for providing on-going technical assistance and strategic guidance for developed Apprentice Programs to ensure quality operation. This position also serves as a liaison with institutes of higher education, to integrate Apprenticeship career pathways with credit-bearing related instruction.
Anticipated start date is August 1, 2026.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Provide ongoing technical assistance to Registered Apprenticeship Program sponsors and other Apprenticeship partners to ensure seamless and effective program implementation and quality
  2. Build long-standing employer and partner relationships through the provision of outstanding customer service and demonstrated results
  3. Promote Registered and Youth Apprenticeship to employers/partners with a goal of expanding the programs across growing industries/sectors that also meet the needs of rural communities and are in alignment with CAP's strategic plan.
  4. Facilitate the design of structured on-the-job learning (OJL) that supports experiential learning to teach specific occupational competencies during productive, full-time employment
  5. Leverage OJL and Related Training Instruction (RTI) to provide college credit towards degree and/or certification obtainment from institutes of higher education
  6. In partnership with the Early Learning Program Director manage and support budget planning and reporting.
  7. Prepare necessary reporting for grants, quarterly and annually as required.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Participate in information gathering and writing of required grant reporting and monitoring in partnership with Early Learning Program Director
  2. Participate in agency-wide initiatives related to Apprenticeship, including representing RurAL CAP at public events and other external committees and activities, as needed
  3. Support communications efforts, including engaging in interviews, collaborating on marketing materials, obtaining photographs and other related activities utilizing social media and traditional outlets
  4. Support the planning and implementation of promotional events, including National Apprenticeship Week activities, such as panel discussions, proclamations and news releases
  5. Performs other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Interprets and communicates work procedures, job duties and company policies to provide assigned staff with guidance in handling difficult or complex problems and in resolving escalated complaints or disputes.
  2. Encourages and builds mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members and get members of a group to work together to accomplish tasks; seeking guidance from the ECE Programs Director when needed.
  3. Evaluates and discusses job performance with employees to identify potential difficulties, work on resolving issues, make any appropriate personnel action and to also celebrate the successes.
  4. Evaluates assigned staff's job performance and conformance to regulations and recommends appropriate personnel action

POSITION TYPE / EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8am to 4pm. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
TRAVEL:
This position will travel in and out-of-state. Out of state for nation-wide partnership networking. In-state, to rural Alaskan communities by air, water, and ground transportation.
EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS AND REQUIRED EDUCATION:

  1. Must be at least 21 years of age.
  2. Must pass state and federal background checks, including fingerprints.
  3. Bachelors Degree in Early Education or related field.
  4. Responsible work ethic with reliable attendance.
  5. Employees are expected to remain alert, attentive, and fully engaged in their responsibilities during all working hours. Sleeping while on duty is strictly prohibited.
  6. Proven ability and willingness to be self-directed in problem solving and decision-making and perform basic assignments with little or no direct supervision while also working effectively as a team member.
  7. Demonstrated intermediate level computer skills necessary to use and create documents and reports, spreadsheets, workshop materials and slide presentations, and to enter data into intricate database programs. Proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Outlook required.
  8. Must keep all matters concerning participants in strictest confidence as required by HIPAA privacy and the 42 CFR, Part II confidentiality regulations.
  9. Must be able to provide own transportation to meet work schedule requirements.
  10. Must have a valid driver's License and maintain a valid driver's license throughout the course of employment. Must provide a copy of current driving record from the Department of Motor Vehicles annually.
  11. Must have an insured vehicle, present proof of insurance, and maintain proof of insurance throughout the course of employment.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  1. Masters Degree in education or related field
  2. A minimum of 3 years of management experience
  3. A minimum of 3 years of experience in an educational or non-profit setting
