We are looking for an experienced Building Maintenance Engineer to join our team. The right candidate will be able to demonstrate the ability to work with various construction tools while maintaining the daily Association operations. The ability to interact with property residents in a professional manner is a necessity.

The following job requirements are essential to this position.

• Familiarity with industrial/commercial equipment, such as HVAC and hydraulic systems.
• Understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Hands-on experience executing industry-standard repairs using the proper tools.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other contractors and Maintenance Technicians.
• Keen attention to detail to notice equipment issues.
• Problem-solving skills to propose quick and affordable solutions.
• Verbal communication skills to understand management requirements concerning maintenance issues.
• Developing a schedule for routine maintenance.
• Responding to work tickets to diagnose and repair malfunctioning equipment.
• Creating standard operating procedures for maintenance and repairs.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions, maintenance, and repairs

Key Responsibilities

• Plan & Implement Strategies: Design and execute preventative and predictive maintenance schedules.
• Troubleshoot & Repair: Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and structural issues needing immediate repair.
• System Upgrades: Recommend obsolete equipment replacement, coordinate the installation of new equipment, and suggest modifications to improve overall reliability.
• Compliance & Safety: Enforce adherence to state and City of Palatine policy regarding safety concerns.
• Vendor Management: Supervise external contractors and technical staff during specialized repairs.
