Job description

Rubbercraft is seeking a Mix Operator Technician (1st Shift)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Weigh ingredients as specified by the formula provided by the lab when necessary. 
  • Mix Rubbercraft’s compound formulations according to written instructions and IAW WI 751-19 
  • Maintain inventory and order ingredients as needed. 
  • Conduct Visual In-process inspection to verify correct weight on ingredients. 
  • Maintain proper formula traceability. 
  • Follow all proper batch release procedures ref. FIFO. 
  • Suggest process and manufacturing improvements when and if insufficiencies exist on Opportunity for Improvements (OFI) forms. 
  • Maintain good housekeeping and safety practices as outlined in the Employee Handbook or directed by your supervisor. 
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 

  • High School Graduate or GED equivalent 
  • 2+ years working as a mixer in a rubber manufacturing environment. 
  • Read and write English, be able to follow and complete router instructions. 

OTHER SUBJECTIVE CRITERIA: 

  • Attention to detail 
  • Working knowledge of different mixing mills, safety equipment and applicable tools 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Good eye hand coordination. 
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs 

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:  

  • On the job training will be conducted on Procedures and Work Instructions from the area of responsibility. 
  • Yearly refresher training on FOD, Calibration, Documentation control and Safety Topics.
