Job description

Job Title: Direct Support Professional (DSP)

Job Type: Part-Time (20 hours/week)
Starting Pay Rate: $30.00 per hour

Position Overview:

Royal Community Support is seeking a compassionate, self-motivated, and energetic Direct Support Professional (DSP) to assist an individual close to the 07052 zip code area of West Orange, New Jersey. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with community-based support, small outings, and activities that promote independence and integration within the community.

SCHEDULE:

few days a week 12p-5p

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one support to an individual with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

  • Assist with daily activities and personal goals, promoting independence and community engagement.

  • Support participation in small outings and community-based activities.

  • Create and maintain a positive, person-centered approach to care.

  • Ensure safety and well-being of the individual at all times.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and a good driving record no more than 5 points.

  • Must be willing to undergo a background check and drug screening.

  • Ability to work legally in the United States.

  • Comfortable with community-based support and engaging in local outings.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Person-centered mindset with a positive attitude and open-mindedness.

  • Passionate about working with individuals with disabilities and promoting independence and providing hands on assistance w/feeding/dressing/toileting.

  • have a smart phone to clock in/out

  • must be willing to be trained in medication administration/ Crisis Mgt. /attend a 1 hr virtual Positive Behavioral Support training
