SUMMARY:
The Quality Coordinator is responsible for supporting and coordinating quality assurance activities within the organization. This role involves monitoring, evaluating, and improving the quality of processes and services, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and facilitating continuous improvement initiatives. The Quality Coordinator collaborates with various departments to promote a culture of quality and safety across the organization. This is a salaried, exempt position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Aids in the development and implementation of quality assurance processes and procedures.
- Ensures compliance with relevant regulatory standards, including those set by state, federal, and accrediting bodies.
- Assists in preparing for and participating in regulatory inspections, audits, and surveys.
- Monitors key performance indicators (KPIs) related to quality and patient safety.
- Conducts regular audits of processes, documentation, and services to ensure compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
- Assists in identifying gaps and the creation of plans of action.
- Ensures compliance with local, state and federal regulatory standards at all times through established practices.
- Collects, analyzes, and reports data on quality metrics, incidents, and patient outcomes.
- Identifies trends, patterns, and areas for improvement based on data analysis.
- Prepares and presents quality reports to management and other stakeholders.
- Participates in root cause analysis for quality incidents and assists in developing corrective action plans.
- Collaborates with department heads, team leaders, and staff to implement quality initiatives and resolve issues.
- Facilitates cross-departmental collaboration to ensure quality standards are consistently met.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or GED.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Associateโs degree.
- A minimum of three (3) years of healthcare experience.
- Active Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse license in the state of Nevada.
- Medical Assistant certification.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and quality management software.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS ANDS WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Frequently required to alternate between sitting, standing, walking.
- Occasionally required to lift/push/carry items up to 15 pounds.
