Robert Half is seeking a Legal Administrative Assistant to support attorneys within a busy litigation practice group on a temporary basis. This role will primarily support senior attorneys, including IP Litigation and Labor & Employment, while also assisting across the broader litigation team as needed.
Job Title: Legal Administrative Assistant (Temporary)
Pay Rate: $30–35/hour
Duration: 4–5 months
Schedule: Full-time (9:00 AM – 5:30 PM + OT as needed)
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (2 days onsite / 3 remote)
Responsibilities
- Provide high-level administrative and legal support to multiple attorneys
- Draft, format, and finalize legal documents, correspondence, pleadings, reports, binders, and presentations
- Perform advanced formatting in Microsoft Word, including:
- Redlining/blacklining
- Tables of contents and authorities
- Document comparisons and footnotes
- Handle state and federal court e-filings
- Maintain and organize electronic case files (iManage and shared systems)
- Manage attorney calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate Zoom/conference calls
- Track litigation deadlines and maintain docket/case status reports
- Coordinate travel arrangements and conference registrations
- Process expense reimbursements and administrative requests
- Communicate professionally with clients, court personnel, vendors, and internal teams
Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years of litigation legal administrative/secretarial experience
- Strong understanding of litigation terminology and court filing procedures
- Experience with New York State and Federal Court e-filing highly preferred
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience with systems such as iManage, Intapp, or Aderant is a plus
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
