Role Description

Road To Finish, LLC is seeking a Construction Materials Testing Technician / Inspector for a contract, on-site position in the Columbus, Ohio Metropolitan Area.

The technician will perform field inspection and construction materials testing associated with soils, concrete, asphalt, aggregates, and related construction activities.

Responsibilities include performing field density and compaction testing, fresh concrete testing, collecting samples, observing construction activities, documenting field conditions and test results, and preparing accurate and timely reports.

The technician will coordinate and communicate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and other project personnel while ensuring testing and inspection activities are completed in accordance with applicable project specifications and testing procedures.

This is a field-based position requiring travel to project sites throughout the Columbus/Central Ohio area and the ability to work in varying construction and weather conditions.

Qualifications

* ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade I

* Nuclear Density Gauge Operator Certification

* Experience performing construction materials testing and/or construction inspection

* Experience with concrete, soils, asphalt, aggregates, and field density testing

* Ability to read and understand construction plans, specifications, and technical documentation

* Strong field documentation and report-writing skills

* Ability to accurately document testing results and construction observations

* Strong written and verbal communication skills

* Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with project personnel

* Knowledge of construction site safety requirements and procedures

* Ability to perform physically demanding field activities and work outdoors in varying conditions

* Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Preferred Qualifications

* 5+ years of construction materials testing or inspection experience

* ICC Soils Certification

* ICC Reinforced Concrete Certification

* ICC Concrete Placement Certification

* ICC Structural Steel & Bolting Certification

* Additional ACI, ICC, NICET, ODOT, or applicable materials testing certifications

* Previous experience on transportation, commercial, municipal, aviation, or large-scale infrastructure projects
