Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of patients’ mental health, including evaluating emotional, behavioral, and social functioning to develop comprehensive treatment strategies.
• Provide individualized psychotherapy and mental health services to address conditions such as anxiety, depression, and PTSD, ensuring culturally competent practices tailored to each student’s unique background.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including psychologists, psychiatrists, educators, and primary care providers, to ensure a cohesive approach to student care and wellness.
• Regularly monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary based on feedback from both patients and healthcare professionals.
• Deliver education and resources to patients and their families regarding mental health issues, treatment options, and community support services.
• Adhere to ethical standards and maintain confidentiality, ensuring all practices comply with regulatory guidelines and organizational policies.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily focuses on school-aged children and adolescents facing a variety of mental health challenges. The LCSW will address issues in an educational setting, helping students enhance their emotional resilience, cope with stressors, and cultivate a supportive environment conducive to learning and personal growth.

Qualifications

• A master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution is required.
• Current licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Georgia.
• A minimum of three years of experience in delivering psychotherapy and mental health services, preferably in a school or adolescent setting.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build rapport with students, families, and team members.
• Strong clinical assessment skills and experience using evidence-based practices in treatment.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHRs) and the use of telehealth platforms.
• A deep understanding of various mental health disorders and the unique challenges faced by children and adolescents.
• A commitment to maintaining professionalism and ethical standards.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working within school systems and with educational staff to create intervention strategies.
• Background in team-based collaboration with other health care professionals, focusing on integrative care approaches.
