Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Tattoo Artist role based at Rise Up Tattoo in Modesto, CA. The Tattoo Artist will consult with clients to understand their ideas, design custom artwork, and create tattoos in a safe and professional manner. Daily tasks include preparing workstations, maintaining strict hygiene and sterilization protocols, and ensuring compliance with local health regulations. The role involves providing clear aftercare instructions, answering client questions, and delivering a positive, respectful customer experience. Additional responsibilities may include collaborating with other artists, maintaining a portfolio, assisting with shop upkeep, and participating in promotional or social media content related to the studio.

Qualifications

• Strong tattooing skills, including custom design, line work, shading, and color application.
• Art and design abilities, with a solid portfolio demonstrating drawing, composition, and creativity.
• Customer service skills, including clear communication, active listening, and professional client interactions.
• Experience or training in piercing and basic knowledge of tattoo removal processes is beneficial.
• Thorough understanding of infection control, sterilization procedures, and health and safety regulations.
• Valid local and state licenses or certifications for tattooing (and piercing, if applicable).
• Ability to work flexible hours, stand for extended periods, and manage multiple appointments efficiently.
