Job description

Position Summary:
The Family Nurse Practitioner - Urgent Care provides comprehensive care to hospitalized patients during day time shifts. This role involves managing patient care, performing assessments, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care, including assessments, diagnoses, and treatment planning for hospitalized patients during night shifts.
  • Manage acute and chronic medical conditions, perform procedures, and make critical decisions in a hospital setting.
  • Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and nursing staff to coordinate patient care and ensure continuity of care.
  • Document patient interactions, treatments, and progress in the electronic medical record system.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and provide critical care as needed.
  • Participate in hospital-based quality improvement initiatives and contribute to patient safety efforts.
Required Qualifications:
  • Certification: Board Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
  • Licensure: Current New York State (NYS) License as a Nurse Practitioner.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a hospitalist or inpatient setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong clinical skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure during nighttime hours.
