Part-Time Addiction Counselor
Company: Renewing Me Behavioral Health Solutions
Location: Parkville
Position Type: Part-Time (20-25 hours per week)
Schedule: Flexible weekday and evening hours available

Join Our Team
Renewing Me Behavioral Health Solutions (RMBHS) is a CARF-accredited, Maryland-licensed behavioral health organization committed to empowering individuals and families through compassionate, person-centered care. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Part-Time Addiction Counselor to provide substance use disorder treatment services within our outpatient and intensive outpatient programs.
The ideal candidate is passionate about supporting individuals in recovery, values a collaborative team environment, and is committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based care.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive substance use assessments, screenings, and biopsychosocial evaluations
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and update them in accordance with regulatory requirements
  • Facilitate individual, group, and family counseling sessions
  • Provide psychoeducation on addiction, relapse prevention, coping skills, and recovery supports
  • Monitor client progress and maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in the electronic health record
  • Coordinate care with internal providers, community agencies, probation/parole officers, and referral sources as appropriate
  • Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings and clinical supervision
  • Maintain compliance with Maryland regulations, CARF standards, confidentiality requirements, and agency policies
  • Assist with crisis intervention and discharge planning as needed
  • Support random and scheduled toxicology screening processes when applicable

Qualifications
Required:
  • Current Maryland credential or licensure as an ADT, CSC-AD, CAC-AD, LGADC, LCADC, LGPC, LCPC, LMSW, or LCSW-C
  • Minimum of one year of experience providing substance use disorder treatment services
  • Knowledge of ASAM criteria, relapse prevention, motivational interviewing, and evidence-based treatment approaches
  • Experience facilitating group counseling sessions
  • Strong written, verbal, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with electronic health records and clinical documentation

Preferred:
  • Experience working in outpatient or intensive outpatient treatment settings
  • Knowledge of Maryland Medicaid requirements and authorization processes
  • Experience working with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders
