Job Summary

The Lead Instructional Designer, is a hands‑on leadership role responsible for designing & developing high-quality training content while providing day‑to‑day coordination, guidance, and support to assigned members of the Vitu Training team.

This role blends instructional design expertise with operational leadership, ensuring training programs are accurate, engaging, and aligned to business and regulatory requirements. The Team Lead partners closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), internal stakeholders, and Learning & Enablement leadership to design, maintain, and scale training programs across existing and emerging markets.

In addition to content development, this role provides day‑to‑day direction for assigned project workstreams, helping prioritize tasks, maintain consistency in instructional standards, and ensure timely delivery of training initiatives.

Key Responsibilities Instructional Design & Content Development

Design, develop, and maintain instructor‑led, virtual, and eLearning training programs.

Translate complex regulatory, operational, and dealership processes into clear, structured, and learner‑friendly content.

Develop facilitator guides, participant materials, job aids, assessments, and supporting training documentation.

Build and maintain eLearning modules using tools such as Articulate 360 (Rise and Storyline).

Ensure all training content is accurate, consistent, and aligned with Vitu Training standards and instructional best practices.

Continuously update training materials based on regulatory changes, system updates, and business needs.

Provide day‑to‑day direction and coordination for assigned training content projects and team members.

Help prioritize workload, manage timelines, and ensure deliverables are completed on schedule.

Review training materials for quality, consistency, and instructional effectiveness prior to final approval.

Serve as a go‑to resource for instructional design guidance, templates, and best practices.

Mentor and support instructional designers and content contributors in developing high‑quality training materials.

Identify risks, bottlenecks, or resource gaps and elevate appropriately to Learning & Enablement leadership.

SME & Stakeholder Collaboration

Partner with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to gather, validate, and refine training content.

Facilitate working sessions with SMEs to translate technical and regulatory knowledge into structured learning solutions.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders, state partners, and external industry groups to identify training needs and requirements.

Ensure stakeholder feedback is incorporated into training design and continuous improvement efforts.

Program Development & Expansion Support

Support the development and rollout of training programs in new states, markets, and business lines.

Assist in building scalable training frameworks, templates, and reusable content structures.

Contribute to the standardization of instructional design processes across the Vitu Training organization.

Support onboarding and readiness efforts for new programs, products, and system implementations.

Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance training effectiveness, efficiency, and learner experience.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in instructional design, training development, learning and development, or a related field.

Experience designing and delivering instructor‑led and digital learning solutions.

Strong ability to translate complex processes, systems, or regulatory content into clear instructional materials.

Experience collaborating with SMEs and cross‑functional stakeholders.

Proficiency with eLearning development tools such as Articulate 360 (Rise and Storyline) preferred.

Strong project coordination, organizational, and time management skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Experience in automotive, title and registration, compliance, or regulated industries preferred but not required.

Leadership Scope

Provides day‑to‑day work direction and coordination for assigned training content projects and contributors.

Serves as a peer leader and mentor within the instructional design function.

Acts as a key operational bridge between instructional design execution and strategic learning priorities.

Compensation The salary range for this position is: $70,000 - 85,000 Reporting Structure

Reports to: Senior Director, Learning & Enablement Role Type: Individual Contributor with Team Lead responsibilities

The Team Lead is responsible for hands‑on instructional design work while also coordinating project execution and supporting team members in delivering high‑quality training solutions. Strategic direction, staffing decisions, and performance management remain with Learning & Enablement leadership.
