Job description
Overview
FirstHealth of the Carolinas is a nationally recognized health care system located in central North Carolina. Comprised of four hospitals with more than 600 beds, the system also offers leading-edge heart care in the Reid Heart Center, the area's only dedicated heart and vascular center. A labor and delivery (L&D) nurse supports patients during and after birth (vaginal and c-sections) under the supervision of a nurse midwife or physician. They also care for infants immediately after delivery. The registered nurses will work in L&D, the OR, and PACU.
ResponsibilitiesThe Labor and Delivery (L&D) OB Triage RN is responsible for providing comprehensive care to women during labor, delivery and the immediate postpartum period. The RN in this highly specialized role is skilled at managing both routine and high-risk pregnancies, monitoring fetal and maternal well-being, and assisting with deliveries. The L&D RN collaborates with the healthcare team to develop individualized plans of care for expectant mothers, while assessing and monitoring the health status of their patients, providing safe and compassionate care, while ensuring timely interventions.
QualificationsWill be working 72/hrs per pay period as a staff RN for 12 weeks. Benefit status is consistent with casual part time benefits.

At least 1 year recent acute care experience required. NC RN License or Multistate RN License required.
