Job Overview

Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), where you will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive mental health care to diverse patient populations. This energetic position offers the opportunity to assess, diagnose, and treat individuals experiencing a range of psychiatric conditions, utilizing advanced clinical skills and evidence-based practices. You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to promote mental wellness, manage medication therapies, and support patients across outpatient and inpatient settings. Your expertise will help improve quality of life for patients of all ages, from children to seniors, in a fast-paced and rewarding environment.

Duties
  • Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments, including patient history, mental status examinations, and diagnostic evaluations using ICD-10 coding standards.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans incorporating psychopharmacology, therapy modalities, and behavioral health interventions.
  • Prescribe medications such as antidepressants, antipsychotics, and botulinum toxin treatments when appropriate, ensuring compliance with state regulations.
  • Monitor patient progress through regular follow-ups, adjusting medications and treatment strategies based on clinical response and side effects.
  • Collaborate with primary care providers, specialists (e.g., gastroenterology, infectious disease), and case managers to coordinate holistic patient care.
  • Provide telehealth services utilizing EMR systems like Epic or eClinicalWorks to reach patients remotely while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
  • Educate patients and families about mental health conditions, medication management, and lifestyle modifications to foster recovery and resilience.
Experience
  • Valid certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with active licensure in the state of practice.
  • Demonstrated experience in behavioral health settings with proficiency in psychiatric medication management and patient assessment.
  • Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or Athenahealth for documentation and clinical workflows.
  • Experience working with diverse populations including children (pediatrics), geriatrics (memory care), assisted living residents, or individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Knowledge of acute care environments such as hospitals (Level I Trauma Center or Level II Trauma Center experience), inpatient units, or emergency rooms is highly desirable.
  • Background in clinical research or participation in teaching hospital programs adds value to your application.
  • Skills in trauma-informed care practices, crisis intervention (triage), pain management strategies, and infection control protocols are advantageous.

Join us to make a meaningful difference through compassionate mental health services! We are committed to supporting your professional growth while fostering a vibrant team dedicated to excellence in patient care.
