Job description

Red River RCM is growing, and we are seeking a full-time Medicare Advantage Patient Account Representative (PAR) to join our team.


This remote position is ideal for someone who is dependable, detail-oriented, compassionate, and comfortable working independently while remaining connected to a supportive team. Our Patient Account Representatives play an important role in helping resolve outstanding insurance accounts and ensuring claims are followed through to appropriate resolution.


At Red River RCM, we value our employees and provide opportunities for professional growth. Patient Account Representatives who successfully obtain the AAHAM CRCS certification may advance through our PAR promotion process and receive a $2.00 per hour increase to their base rate.

Responsibilities include:

  • Follow up on Medicare Advantage insurance claims using payer websites, online resources, and telephone communication
  • Review claim status and determine the appropriate next action needed for resolution
  • Identify and work denied, rejected, and underpaid claims
  • Prepare and submit appeals when appropriate
  • Communicate with insurance companies to resolve payment and claim-processing issues
  • Document account activity clearly and accurately
  • Manage assigned accounts and work queues
  • Meet established productivity expectations
  • Meet quality and accuracy standards
  • Follow company and client policies and procedures


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Strong computer and typing skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to organize and prioritize assigned work
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Dependable and able to meet productivity and quality expectations


Preferred Experience:

  • Previous patient accounts, medical billing, insurance follow-up, or revenue cycle experience
  • Experience working Medicare Advantage claims
  • Familiarity with insurance denials, appeals, payer portals, and claim follow-up
